31/01/18 Back in the game new day Wednesday food club Korma

After a long absence we have managed to resurrect the food club. A four man food club this week with Joe making a very tasty but unhealthy Korma!! £5 a head and we also spent about £21 on Naan and poppadoms way over the amount needed for four of us but as always Narnia beckoned.

Whilst we settled down and Joe prepared the food Pete had a one man poppadom food frenzy! It is unconfirmed but he may have double dipped!

The main ingredients butter, cream, coriander, salt, ginger, garlic, turmeric, and almond powder.

Fry the chicken in some butter with salt to taste.

Joe then set to work peeling and grating some garlic and then some ginger. Eve also got involved with some stirring and grating as well.

Once the chicken was cooked off. Joe started to add the grated spices to the pan before adding more butter and cream.

Once the sauce was made Joe put in the chicken, and heated the curry up. He boiled up some rice and we were ready to eat.

Look at the look of contentment on Pete and Eve’s faces! Suffice to say the Korma was amazing.

My first Tuesday Club of 2017 was at Hunts house for the first time and we were joined by, Joe, Pete, Eve, Hunt, Ben, Neil, Jack, Louise, Holly and Me (Garry).

After being offered a sketchy lift in the back of Petes van alongside load of christmas trees, Me and Holly decided to take a walk through a muddy field to arrive at Hunts.

On the menu was Joe’s pork wraps with red cabbage, peas, humous, cheese and chilli sauce!

After weeks of small groups we were back at the Jones household joined by, Joe, Pete, Jack, Dave, Alix, Louise, Chris, Hunt, Graham and me (Garry)

This blog is rather late going up and the amount I’ve drank since this meal I can’t remember much.

Heres a visual version of the events.

Back on the mulled wine, like this time last year!

The curry was a Caribbean black bean inspired dish that didn’t need Naan, but we had naan!!

27/12/16-Pasta bake at Grahams

Nearly a new Year and a Tuesday club at a new house. Graham had kindly offered his house whilst in a drunken stupour and filled with Christmas spirit. A low seven man food club. Joe, Graham, Hunt, Jack, Louise, Anna and #leaveneilalone. Cost this week was £5 a piece.

Joe had spotted a four pizza bargain whilst shopping so we had four pizza express pizzas so a seriously strong side game.

Joe began by frying some chopped chorizo and cutting some mushrooms and adding them to the frying pan. Whilst that was cooking he boiled the pasta to soften it.

He took the pasta off the boil and began to melt some butter. Adding a tub full of mascarpone to the melted butter mixture. Seasoning with salt and pepper.

He also added the mushroom of chorizo to the pasta with a healthy dose of xmas left overs gammon and another meat which slips my memory.

He then scrapped the mixture out into his new posh cooking dish.

Before adding extra mature sliced cheddar to the top and placing into the oven. Graham treated everyone to some crisps and nuts. Christmas munch extravaganza.

29/11/16 Pizza at Joe’s

A special Tuesday club few in numbers but high in Tuesday taste. Taking place for the first time in Chef Joe’s abode. Polish Sausage Pizza Night!!!! This Tuesday club having taken place some time in the past has meant the events are a little hazy and may be sparse in detail. It was a five man club Joe, Jack, Louise, Hunt and the non-forgettable Graham.

We will start with a guided tour of Joe’s kitchen/front room by Hunt. He liked sliding on the floor.

#nosidegame though. Joe was very annoyed when asked about garlic bread. He did have two types of allioli to dip the crusts into and some Sweet Baby Rae bbq sauce so we couldn’t complain too much. Louise had also nipped into Gloucestershire services farm shop to bring us some truly delicious pie for dessert that was so good no one got a picture of it. Pretty epic food fresh and all handmade by the Tuesday club Chef himself.

22/11/16 – Pink and Sour

This week we were at Andy’s and we was joined by Joe, Jack, Louise, Alix, Neil, Ellen, Gilly, Hunt, Andy and Me (Garry)

Jack picked me up early this week so the blog will have some prep photos!

Joe was cooking his sweet and sour with belly pork in, last time he did this was round Petes one very cold night so easily a year ago.

GJP_5174
Joes been buying the highest quality products these days. Belly pork is a favourite with everyone at the club!

GJP_5169
Jack got his slippers on while abusing and teasing the cat!

Joe made his own sweet and sour sauce by taking canned pineapple and taking the juice putting it in a saucepan and leaving the chunks for later. He also added rice wine vinegar, sugar and salt.

GJP_5176

GJP_5179

Joe oven cooked the pork and then removed the fat before he cut it up and added the other ingredients like pineapple, carrot, peas and onions all good and chunky like you’d get it in any good Chinese restaurant.

GJP_5191

GJP_5196

Joe had banished everyone from the kitchen and Andy had even left his own house to prevent any hosting duties getting to serious. To be fair he had to go smell a mans gas…

GJP_5207

GJP_5210
about to go back into the oven once coated in the sauce!

We all got round Andy’s tiny table but still no Andy! he’s even late for his own meal.

Diner was served…

GJP_5218

GJP_5220

GJP_5222

Not a huge amount of photos when people were round the table and elbows could hardly be rose up let alone a camera, anyway heres what was shot. Neil looking dapper, Hunt on the sofa going in!

And these two….

15/11/16 – Goats Cheese Tart

This week were joined by Joe, Jack, Louise, Hunt, Neil, Alix, Pete, Andy and Me (Garry).

Took a leaf out of Andy’s book this week by showing up bang on time for when diner was being served, only because I was with him at the pub and he always has to have a second pint.

On the Menu this week was goats cheese tart! We all love bit of cheese at Tuesday Club so Joe thought he do a whole main of cheese.

Sides were looking strong, homemade bread, baked camembert, polish sausages and some green veg on the side!

GJP_5122

This bread was amazing, Joe insisted on cutting it himself as he can’t allow us mortals to do it.

GJP_5123
Jack in waiting for his tart..

It was actually our last meal at this residence as the germans are invading I mean returning home and Jack is moving back his parents over the road.

Neil gave it the evil eyes in his dapper suit and captain america t-shirt, he’s becoming more and more of a changed man weekly.
GJP_5124

GJP_5132
sausages as a side, perfect!

This was the first of two tarts, Joe always has two tarts on the go… he’s just that type of guy.
GJP_5137

GJP_5145
Andy was desperate to pick up both the camemberts and do some cheesy Princess Leia impression.

GJP_5146

GJP_5147

GJP_5148
Neil equally confused as ever by the bread and up to his old tricks of taking one to many sausages and cutting it up into child size mouthfuls.

GJP_5153

GJP_5152
Help me Cheesus.

GJP_5156

GJP_5157
So much cheese chatter and love for this meal.

The secondary tart..
GJP_5160
equally as fine as the first.
